We offer classes to students of all ages – from children as young as 18 months to adults. We currently run 25 classes per week including Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop and Kids Creative Movement.
Although our focus is sharing our love of dance with all of our students we are also strongly committed to their holistic development as well-rounded happy individuals and competent dancers.
DANCE CAMP: a weekend of free dance classes!
Dance Camp is a fun way to end the term – it’s also a great opportunity to try out different styles of dance and enjoy being part of the greater Dance Northside community.
Dance Camp is a non-residential weekend of free dance classes – every student that is currently enrolled in classes at Dance Northside is invited to attend as many classes as they like – free of charge!
Students not currently enrolled at Dance Northside are welcome to attend classes for only $10 per lesson.
For more details about Dance Camp please refer to the Dance Northside timetable.
Dance Northside holds an annual end-of-year concert. This is an awesome opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and come together as a community.
The concert is a confidence-building and enriching experience for all students. We put on a high quality, yet stress-free show for both parents and students. The music we use, the choreography we create and the costumes we provide are always appropriate to the age of the student. Our makeup requirements are minimal - in fact optional! No sewing of costumes is required, just a small performance fee. All rehearsals are held within usual class times, with a short performance season.
2018 CONCERT: Gungahlin Collage Theatre 16th-17th December
Dance Northside has two Performance Groups, one is intermediate and the other is advanced.
Under the close direction of Holly Diggle, the performance groups work with various choreographers to create performance pieces of a high standard in Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Jazz styles, whilst maintaining the well established values of Dance Northside.
We are not a competitive performance group; we do not compete in eisteddfods. We perform at local dance and cultural events around Canberra such as Floriade, the Multicultural Festival and Belconnen markets. Our aim is to produce high quality work and challenge our advanced dancers whilst maintaining a strong sense of community and personal growth.
Auditions for the Performance Groups are held annually. Students aged 10 years and over are welcome to audition. Please contact Holly if you would like more information.
